How to Make St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes

Mahalo cooking expert Miranda Valentine shows you how to make St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/2 cup Guiness or stout beer
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 eggc
Equipment
- 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 spatula
- 1 electric mixer
- 2 medium mixing bowl
- 1 whisk
- 1 spoon
- 1 cupcake pan with cupcake linersc
Make St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Add the beer and butter to your large mixing bowl and mix.
- Add cocoa powder and mix with electric mixer on low.
- Set aside and combine dry ingredients in your medium mixing bowl - flour, sugar, salt and baking soda.
- Whisk together and set aside.
- In your other mixing bowl, combine the egg and sour cream with electric mixer on low.
- Combine the wet ingredients, adding the egg and sour cream to your chocolate, beer and butter mixture.
- Add the dry ingredients, gradually, combining with your electric mixer on low.
- Spoon your mixture into your cupcake liners in the cupcake pan, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
- Place in the oven for 17 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of each cupcake comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before you frost, ideally with St. Patrick's Day frosting.
